New tools, and fixes you would notice, newest first. If there is a tool you want, the feedback link at the foot of every page reaches us, and several entries below started that way.

  • Extract Audio and Remove Audio now take a video of any size, where they used to stop at 500 MB and say nothing useful about why. Only the index of the video is read, so an 8 GB recording works on any computer and is ready at once.
  • Fixed in both: a video with its index at the front, which is how most videos shared online are laid out, came out damaged. The extracted sound had errors in it, and a video with its sound removed showed a broken picture.
  • Fixed in Extract Audio: the M4A still contained the whole picture, hidden, so the audio from a 36 MB video was 36 MB. It is now only the sound.
  • The download appears as soon as the video is added. There used to be a second button to press first, with nothing saying so.
  • On the Thai pages of both tools the messages under the result were in English. They are in Thai now.

  • New: CSV to HTML, CSV to XML and CSV to JSON, asked for by a visitor. Drop a file or paste the text; copy the result or save it. Thai files from Excel are read correctly, leading zeros stay, and nothing is uploaded, whatever the size of the file.
  • Fixed in CSV to Excel, Fix CSV Encoding and Scrub CSV: a Thai CSV saved as UTF-8 without a byte-order mark and larger than 64 KB was, about two times in three, read as the older Thai encoding, and every Thai letter came out as symbols. In Fix CSV Encoding that meant a file that was already right came back wrong. The same happened the other way round to a Thai Windows file whose first 64 KB was English, such as a list sorted with English names first.
  • CSV files saved as Excel’s "Unicode Text" (UTF-16) and as "CSV (Macintosh)" now open in every CSV tool. The first was refused as an unknown encoding and the second read as a single row.
  • Fixed in JSON and XML: tag and attribute names in Thai were refused or, for attributes, silently dropped, and a JSON key that XML cannot use, such as one with a space, was written into the XML anyway, producing a file no reader would open. Thai names now work both ways, and an unusable key is named in an error.
  • The picture shown when a page is shared on LINE or Facebook said "{n} tools" instead of a number. The count has been taken off it.

  • New: Unlock PDF, asked for by a visitor. Type the password once and save the PDF without it, several files at a time; print and copy restrictions come off with no password at all. Nothing is uploaded, not even the password.
  • Fixed in Protect PDF: about one password in forty produced a file that other readers, Acrobat and Poppler among them, would not open with the right password. Found by testing the new unlock tool against an independent implementation. A file protected here before 19 September that will not open elsewhere can still be opened with Unlock PDF, using its password, and protected again.
  • Fixed in merge, split, reorder and the other PDF tools: numbers in a copied document were rounded to six decimal places, which made text in some fonts render a fraction too large.
  • New: Extract Text From a PDF, asked for by a visitor in the first message the feedback form ever received. Copy the text or save it as a file. Thai comes out as it was typed, including from Word and Excel files that other tools turn into "กาหนด" and "มหำชน".
  • Fixed in every PDF tool: some producers pad compressed data past its end, and those parts of a file were read as empty. They now read in full.

  • Compress PDF shows a progress bar, because a run that takes twenty seconds looked as if it had stopped.
  • Compress PDF now publishes where its size promise stops, measured on 100 MB files: a 50-page scan reaches 2 MB, a 220-page scan cannot, and the page tells you the smallest it managed instead of pretending.

  • A search box on the home page. With fifty tools, scrolling was the only way to find one.
  • New games: sudoku with one answer and no guessing, a sliding puzzle that never deals an unsolvable board, and solitaire.

  • New: a games section, with Snake, 2048, Minesweeper and Tetris. They work with a Thai keyboard layout switched on.

  • Watermark PDF: the watermark is now as large as the size you choose, turns to any angle, and the preview turns the same way the PDF does.

  • New: a spinning wheel, a random picker and a random number generator, all drawing from the browser's cryptographic randomness.
  • The site was checked with its own accessibility tools, and what they found was fixed.

  • New: Reorder PDF pages, asked for by a visitor. Drag the pages, or use the arrows from a keyboard or a phone.
  • New: an accessibility group, with a contrast checker, a colour-vision simulator, a readability score, a PDF accessibility checker and a flashing-content checker.
  • New: an Enigma machine you can watch, classic ciphers, text encryption, Morse code with sound, and a number base converter.
  • Fixed in every PDF tool: encrypted PDFs with no open password, such as bank statements and government forms, were refused. They now open, as they do in every reader.

  • LightUtils opens: file tools that run in your browser and never upload, in English and Thai.
  • Many files at once: crop, watermark and compress a batch in one go, and HEIC photos from iPhones open wherever the browser can read them.
